Kampot pepper is cultivated in the Kampot province, located in the southernmost part of Southeast Asian Cambodia. This region, with its coastal climate and geological conditions, allows local farmers to produce the highest quality pepper in the world. It's no coincidence that this pepper has been granted a protected geographical indication, similar to French Champagne. We purchase the pepper from small family farms under direct trade conditions, ensuring a fair compensation for every grower, and we aim to promote this approach among other traders as well. Kampot pepper is divided into three primary colors, differentiated by the processing of the fruit of the pepper vine. Black pepper is harvested when the peppercorns are still green. Subsequently they are dried in the fierce Cambodian sun, where they acquire their characterictic black color and crusty surface. Thanks to a careful selection that meets the strict quality requirements for pepper exported from Kampot, set by the Kampot Pepper Association, only the finest grains are always handpicked. These are then vacuum sealed to maintain quality and freshness during the journey to Europe, where they are further selected, packaged, and delivered right to your table.

Different types of Kampot pepper vary in taste and aroma, hard to find in pepper bought from regular supermarkets. When ground, black pepper releases notes of eucalyptus, camphor, and thyme, complemented by the scent of lime zest. These gradually transition into a seaside aroma, with evolving fruity undertones. The dominant fragrances are those of peach and nectarine, accompanied by the scent of pine and earthy notes of Cambodian mountainous soil rich in minerals.

Thanks to their distinct tastes, scents, and pungency, individual types of pepper suit different purposes. Black pepper is a universal spice that fits into almost any dish. However, it's ideal to pair it primarily with dark red meat. It elevates every steak on the grill or skillet to perfection, but it also finds its place in classic sauces, soups, and pairs wonderfully with pasta. The finer you grind Kampot pepper, the more intense its pungency will be; on the other hand, larger fragments or whole grains impart more specific pepper notes to the dish.

We pack the pepper into resealable pouches ranging in volume from 20 to 250 grams. Thanks to the materials and the remarkable bag sealing technology, the pepper is protected from air and moisture, helping it retain the authentic taste and aroma of Kampot pepper even after opening the pouch.
