Origin

Kampot pepper is grown in the Kampot province, located at the southernmost tip of Southeast Cambodia.

It is a region which, thanks to its coastal climate and geological conditions, allows local farmers to produce pepper of the highest quality in the world. It’s no coincidence that this pepper has earned a protected geographical indication, similar to French champagne.

We buy the pepper directly from small family farms under direct trade conditions that guarantee fair compensation for every grower, and we strive to promote this approach among other traders as well.

By purchasing from us, you get not only pepper of the highest quality, but also the assurance that you're buying a sustainable and ethically responsible product that helps provide producers with healthcare and education for their children.

Characteristics

The rare red pepper is an explosion of fruity notes with a milder pungency.

At first, notes of rose and rosehip dominate, later transitioning into dried cherries. After two to three minutes, the more typical aromas of Kampot pepper begin to unfold — such as citrus fruitsdried mandarins, and a more earthy peel.

Processing

Red pepper is harvested from fully ripe peppercorns.

These ripen to a deep red color and are full of fructose, which gives this type of pepper its unique flavor.

Thanks to careful selection in accordance with the strict quality requirements for Kampot pepper exports, set by the Kampot Pepper Association, only the best grains are handpicked. They are then vacuum-sealed to ensure preserved quality and freshness during transport to the Czech Republic, where they are further sorted, packed, and delivered right to your table.

Usage

Thanks to differences in flavor, aroma, and spiciness, different types of pepper are suited for different uses. Red pepper, thanks to its fruity character, is the king of cold cuisine.

It’s great for vegetable saladsgoes well with risotto, soups, and don’t hesitate to experiment with it when preparing sweet desserts or mixed drinks. Rather than pairing it with dark meats, combine it with fish or light poultry. The finer you grind Kampot pepper, the more intense its spiciness becomes — larger fragments or whole grains, on the other hand, will lend more complex tones to the dish.

Packaging

Thanks to the materials used and the special pouch sealing technology, no air or moisture reaches the pepper.

As a result, even after opening the pouch, the grains retain their authentic taste and aroma of Kampot pepper. Once empty, the pouches can be upcycled as part of a sustainability effort and reused in many different ways. We pack the pepper into resealable pouches ranging from 20 to 1000 grams. Each pack also includes a brochure that tells the story of the world’s finest pepper and introduces the world of .pepper..field.

Awards

Quality comes first for us, as confirmed not only by the certificates our pepper holds, but also by the awards it receives from international competitions.

Among the most prestigious is the award our pepper received at the Great Taste competition, one of the world’s most renowned gastronomy contests.

Sustainability is also important to us — and we don’t treat it as just an empty word, as proven by the SDG Award, which is granted to truly sustainable and socially responsible projects.
